DR. MARTENS: THE BOOTS TO HAVE IN THE WARDROBE

DR. MARTENS: THE BOOTS TO HAVE IN THE WARDROBE
22 October 2024

The history of the Dr. Martens brand begins in 1945, when the doctor Klaus Märtens, following an injury, develops a rubber outsole with air cushion to improve comfort and resistance. The first production took place in 1947, but the decisive turning point was on 1 April 1960 when the entrepreneur Bil Grigg changed the design.
The rubber sole rises, the yellow seams stand out on the dark skin, the eyelets for laces become eight and on the back pops the emblematic black and yellow loop with the mark "Airwair" - referring to the air cushion - and the slogan "With Bouncing Soles" in Bill Grigg’s handwriting.
Born in the 1960s, the Dr. Martens 1460 boots evolve from a practical and functional shoe for postmen and workers to a symbol of protest and cultural icon.
Although the 1460 is the most popular amphibian, many alternative models have been developed over the years.

Dr. Martens JADON

The most aggressive evolution of the classic 8-eye amphibian, the Jadon model retains its original details: fluted edges, yellow stitching and the back loop with logo, to which a wedge adds character and a practical side zip.

Dr. Martens SINCLAIR

For a distinctive look and strong personality, the model Sinclair allows you to choose between two different closures: the classic with 8 eyelets and the more particular with zip.

Dr. Martens AUDRICK CHELSEA
Stivaletto Dr. Martens Audrick Chelsea
The Audrick Chelsea boots are a brand new for this season and are the ideal choice for those who want to combine comfort and style. Despite the lack of classic front lacing, the Dr. Martens DNA is guaranteed by the yellow stitching and logo on the back tongue.

Dr. Martens MOLLY

The traditional model is revisited with the Molly boots, practical but elegant and characterized by eye-catching details: 6 oversized eyelets, a satin ribbon and the unmistakable yellow seams.

Whether you are a rebellious, creative or simply looking for a style that makes your mark, Dr. Martens continue to be the symbol of personal expression and independence. Choose your pair and walk with history at your feet!
